I totally agree with you one should not manage a company by fear. I also agree in relaxing we can listen to our critics and learn from them. I think it would be great to avoid criticism alltogether, however that is a trick I have not yet mastered. Thank you for posting.

You can not manage a company by fear, for the reason that way to eliminate fear is to avoid criticism. Approaches to avoid criticism is always to relax.
The guy that will use his skill and constructive imagination to determine how much the guy can give to get a dollar, as an alternative to how little he can give for any dollar, will succeed.

LOL. I did some psychology training in Dundee recently Alison. At my hotel I chose to do some athletics training in the gym and my fellow athletes were talking about how cold it was going to be this winter. I could not resist the question as to whether or not it is always cold in Scotland...as well as wet! They laughed and told me they do get sunshine as well.

Maybe Alison. Christmas is very commercialised now-a-days. I wonder if there would be so many arguments and family break-ups if we entered into the spirit of giving, sharing and being happy? I am reading Steven Coveys 7 habits again recently and he said the 1st habit is being proactive. This, for him is about broadening our circle of influence, rather than dwelling on our circle of concern. If we choose to give, share and be happy proactively I am sure it could be Christmas every day????? :-)

Lovely. I recently did a 12 hour solo as part of a course up in Scotland. Some of the best moments were as the rain eased off and the sun came out. I was like a bird drying its feathers off in the sunshine. The facilitators said they always hoped there would be rain for the participants, because the learning isn't as strong if it is just nice weather.
